(Snapshot)
The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE) announced the launch of two additional Gifted Education Satellite Centres (Satellite Centres) to provide gifted students, parents and teachers with more convenient access to gifted education programmes and related seminars.
The signing ceremonies for the collaborative agreements with the two new Satellite Centres — namely PLK Tong Nai Kan Junior Secondary College in Sham Shui Po and Alliance Primary School, Whampoa in Hung Hom, the first primary school satellite centre of the HKAGE — were held on 31 March and 3 April, respectively. The two new Satellite Centres commenced their services immediately after the signing ceremonies and hosted their first Gifted Education Practice Sharing Sessions on-site. Teachers from various primary and secondary schools with experience in gifted education were invited to share their insights and practical experiences on methods for identifying gifted students and implementing school-based gifted education.
Together with the Satellite Centres established earlier, there are currently eight Satellite Centres in Hong Kong:
- Alliance Primary School, Whampoa in Hung Hom
- Buddhist Kok Kwong Secondary School in Sha Tin Wai
- Diocesan Girls' School in Jordan
- Evangel College in Tseung Kwan O
- Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School in Shek Mun
