GE Insights In this article, the author (Prof Ng Tai Kai, Executive Director, the HKAGE) explains his view about what would be the ‘new normal’ to the education sector after COVID-19. In particular, he points out the importance of developing students’ self-motivated, self-regulated learning abilities, and the need to develop a holistic IT strategy in Education.

Study on Empathy and Sympathy of Adolescents
GE Insights The Research Division of the HKAGE and the Department of Educational Psychology of The Chinese University of Hong Kong jointly conducted a study related to empathy and sympathy in 2019. This study aimed at understanding the situation of empathy, sympathy, and prosocialness of Hong Kong adolescents using appropriate self-report instruments. Group comparisons were made with respect to their gender, giftedness, and study interests, and implications of the results were briefly discussed.
