世界與科技日新月異，黃金耀博士認為不宜過早定性孩子的發展方向，應持開放態度。他以個人成長經歷展示，人生就如馬拉松，起跑線不等於終點線，目的地不斷轉變，小時候的成績不代表往後的發展。最重要是訓練學生的思維，讓他們懂得辨別資訊真假、解決困題。除此之外，同理心、溝通合作等技能亦相當重要，這些是電腦或人工智能暫時仍不能取代的。
