學苑院長黃金耀博早前出席「元創．元城︰The Sandbox虛擬校園城市計劃 2023-2024」，他指出學院的學員來自不同學校，各有專長和潛能，但他們都有共通特質，就是自主學習能力強，熱愛創作，不喜歡限制和規範，需要自由發揮的空間。而Web3.0，特別是元宇宙可給予他們發揮所長的平台，很適合用於資優學童的培訓。

2021年，被譽為“香港STEM教育之父”的黃金耀博士迎來了人生中的一個新角色：香港資優教育學苑院長，這與他多年來發掘和栽培資優學生一脈相承。“培養資優生最重要的，是教會他們如何自學，所以首先是教，讓他們自己發揮所長。”在新崗位上，他滿懷期待，希望幫助更多香港學生健康成長，成為香港的未來棟樑。
