Gifted Education Fund: Off-school Advanced Learning Programmes (2024/25 School Year)
Programmes for primary students
A total of 9 Off-school Advanced Learning Programmes funded by Gifted Education Fund are available for Primary 4 to Secondary 5 HKAGE student members in the current school year. 4 of them are programmes for primary students.
The following programmes are open for application to Primary 4 to 6 HKAGE student members on or before 12:00 noon, 2 April 2025. Before submitting an application, student should thoroughly read the: Points-to-note
2024-01 Primary Programme
Sustainability Exploration Personalised Storybook Writers Incubation Programme
This programme focuses on developing students’ creativity and writing skills around sustainable development themes. Participants will explore integrating sustainability concepts into storytelling and using AI tools to create e-books. Under expert guidance, they will write personalised storybooks, become writers, and express their views on sustainability. They will present their works at a book release session to inspire more attention to sustainability issues.

Application and Technology of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Town Planning and Smart City
The objective is to establish a robust groundwork in technology, engineering, and programming by integrating theoretical understanding with hands-on practice. Emphasis is placed on fostering exploration, creativity, and the application of AI within smart city frameworks. This course comprises three phases:
- Foundational Knowledge: Introducing Python, Microcontroller, AI machine learning
- Design: Involving collaborative efforts between students and mentors to innovate AI devices
- Presentation: Focused on presenting and refining practical skills

2024-03 Primary Programme
Innovation & Technology Nurturing Programme for Gifted Students
This programme aims to prepare gifted students at upper primary level to become future inventors. It will help students acquire up-to-date knowledge and skills for innovation and technology. Students will share their thoughts in a sharing session by the end of the programme. Through the diverse and challenging learning and teaching activities, students will also develop positive values essential for personal growth and development.

Application of GIS and Remote-sensing in Avian Research — Programme for Gifted Students
This programme aims to connect two distinct professional fields: bird ecology and Geographic Information System (GIS). In addition to yielding significant practical research outcomes, this interdisciplinary learning experience allows gifted students to gain high-quality and challenging learning opportunities, providing ample space to showcase their potential. Under the guidance and assistance of a team of experts, including ecologists, GIS specialists, and group mentors. Students can delve into topics of interest related to birds and conduct group research.
